A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) on the mains unit has tripped to the OFF position

Possible cause: A fault has developed in the 230V circuit protected by that MCB, or too many appliances are drawing power at once.. Eliminate the fault (or reduce the load) before re-setting — switch the MCB back to the ON position.

The RCD (residual current device) does not switch off when the test button marked 'T' is pressed

Possible cause: The RCD unit itself is faulty.. Do NOT use the mains supply system. Call a qualified electrician.
