A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) on the mains unit has tripped to the OFF position

Possible cause: A fault has developed in the 230V circuit protected by that MCB, or too many appliances are drawing power at once.. Eliminate the fault (or reduce the load) before re-setting — switch the MCB back to the ON position against the spring pressure in an upwards direction.

The RCD (residual current device) does not switch off when the test button marked 'T' is pressed

Possible cause: The RCD unit itself is faulty.. Do NOT use the mains supply system. Call a qualified electrician.
