Bailey Digital TV Antenna System
(Oct 2020 Model Year, Autograph / Alliance / Adamo)
Sourced from Bailey's Oct 2020 model year owner's manual for the Autograph / Alliance / Adamo motorhome range. If your motorhome is a different age or range, some details - such as the exact control panel brand or chassis-component generation actually fitted - may not match. Always cross-check against the handbook that came with your specific motorhome.

Master Troubleshooting & Diagnostics Matrix
| Error Code / Indicator | Symptom / Meaning | Possible Cause | Step-by-Step DIY Fix | Suggested Actions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
N/A | LED on the amplifier does not light | — | First confirm the unit is getting power. Next check the polarity is right. Grade UK Ltd can help further if that doesn't solve it. | DIY Check / Tech Fallback |
N/A | Very poor reception: no picture or sound at all, the TV freezing, heavy pixelation, breakup, and the picture dropping out. | — | Confirm the amplifier gain is turned fully clockwise to maximum. Confirm the antenna is actually pointed at the transmitter. Confirm the antenna's polarity (horizontal or vertical) is set correctly. Try bypassing the amplifier using 'Short Hook-up: Test 1'. Whichever of these you change, re-tune the TV afterwards. | DIY Safe |
N/A | Signal too strong: expect pixelation, breakup, and dropouts in the picture. | — | Turn the amplifier gain down (anti-clockwise). Point the antenna away from the transmitter. Re-tune the TV after making either change. | DIY Safe |
N/A | Signal far too strong: no picture or sound, the TV freezing, heavy pixelation, breakup, and the picture dropping out. | — | Point the antenna in the opposite direction from the transmitter, turn the amplifier off, and set its gain control fully clockwise to maximum. Re-tune the TV after making either change. | DIY Safe |
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I set up and operate the TV antenna on my Bailey?
Start by working out roughly where the nearest transmitter is and whether it's broadcasting a horizontal or vertical signal - your site operator or a look at neighbouring pitches' aerials will usually tell you. Loosen off the mast's locking collar, wind the antenna up, and turn the mast until it's facing the transmitter (there's an H/V mark on the base of the mast that shows you which way is the back).
If you need vertical polarisation, twist the winder anticlockwise to tip the antenna over by 90 degrees, but don't force it. With the aerial in position, power up the amplifier - its LED should light - and wind the gain control fully clockwise to its maximum setting. From there, retune your TV to find the strongest signal, nudging the mast's direction if needed for a cleaner picture, then lock everything in place by doing the locking collar back up.
If you're getting a strong signal and the picture's breaking up, the gain can be wound back down (anticlockwise) - it turns through a full 270 degrees between its minimum and maximum settings.
