Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I set up the Thule Omnistor awning?

Fit the crank handle to the right length and slot it into the bayonet socket, then turn it anticlockwise - keeping the handle down - to unroll the awning; it won't move for the first couple of turns. Once you've unrolled about a metre, put the support legs out before continuing. Slide the legs from the front profile, adjust them to height, and fasten them (rolling the fabric up slightly helps tension it, but don't extend the legs so high the fabric jams against the arms).

Fit the tension rafter too on larger models. If it's raining, drop one side so water runs off, and use the hold-down kit in gusty conditions - the front profile locks automatically once it's rolled back up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the reversing camera work?

The camera links up with the Garmin satnav unit on the dashboard over Bluetooth the moment you select reverse, with the rear view showing on the satnav screen itself. It doesn't have a separate always-on setting - reverse gear is the only thing that switches it on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the electric rear step work?

A button by the entry door controls it - press once to send it out, press again to bring it back in. Starting the engine retracts it automatically, with a short buzzer as warning; if something's blocking it or it fails to retract, that buzzer carries on sounding until the fault's cleared. It's usually tied to the remote locking too - unlock the doors and it comes out, lock them and it goes back in - though your dealer can disable that link if you prefer.

Reverse polarity warning light is illuminated on the PSU
—This light is designed to catch a reversed/crossed live and neutral supply on UK-wired sites - if it comes on, suspect a fault with the site's own supply, or its connecting cable (outside the UK it can light up with no actual fault present, so check with the site warden). It can also light up quite normally when running from certain generators, since some centre-tap their earth connection rather than earthing the neutral directly, leaving both conductors roughly 110V above earth - usually still safe to keep using in that case, but check the generator's own handbook.DIY Check / Tech Fallback

—The screen's backlight might have simply turned itself off - tap select to wake it again. If that's not it, work through the batteries and fuses, confirm both the shutdown switch and the charger switch on the PSU are set to on, and that mains is plugged in. Also check the lead running between the PSU and the back of the panel. Still nothing? Get in touch with your dealer.DIY Check / Tech Fallback

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the refrigerator need a winter cover?

If you're using it when the outside temperature drops below 10°C, yes - fit the winter cover (supplied) to stop the cold air affecting performance. Take it off again once temperatures climb back above 10°C, or the fridge won't cool as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What do I do if my Auto-Sleeper is stolen?

A Teletrac Trackstar TM470 tracker, hidden somewhere on the vehicle, keeps watch using Thatcham category 6-approved GPS technology - move the vehicle without the ignition on, or tamper with the battery, and it fires an alert straight to your phone. From there it's the usual process: report it to the police for a crime reference number, then call 0345 561 9990 to reach Trackstar's own Control Centre in the UK, or +44 1234 759502 if you're reporting a theft from Europe.

It runs on an annual subscription - call 0345 604 5433 or go to www.teletracnavman.co.uk/trackstar to activate it - and Customer Support on that same number needs telling if you sell up or change your mobile number.

Check whether the blown fuse is a standard or a mini blade fuse (mini ones are roughly half the size), then choose the matching kit:

This fault doesn't say which fuse rating has blown, only to replace it like-for-like. Both kits cover the common ratings (5A-30A) - match the rating printed on the blown fuse.

Continuous running of water pump
Pressure not set correctlyWork through the likely causes in turn: the fresh water tank has run empty; the leisure battery is low, so the pump isn't getting enough voltage; there's a leak on the pump's outlet side (a pipe or joint after the pump, or a split diaphragm inside the pump itself - look for water around it); or the pressure switch has failed.DIY Safe

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I winterise the water system before storing the vehicle for winter?

Open the drain valve next to the water heater, and leave the fresh and waste water tank drain taps open too. Open every internal tap, then run the pump until it stops delivering anything. Go for a short spin with those drain taps still open - it helps shift the last of the water out of the tanks and pipework. Pull the sink plugs so the system can breathe, give the waste tank a thorough flush to shift any debris, finish with a flush of mild disinfectant, and leave the drain tap open.

Concertina blind or flyscreen has become stiff and difficult to operate
The mechanism has dried out or picked up dust/grit over time - these units need only light, occasional lubrication.Apply a light lubricant to the mechanism. Avoid cleaning solvents or aerosols on the blind material itself, as it's a paper-type fabric that these can damage. If the problem persists, contact your Auto-Sleepers dealer.DIY Check / Tech Fallback
