Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I fit the AL-KO Secure wheel lock to my caravan?
First, line the wheel up so you can see the receiver through the centre of the rim - never use the opening where the tyre valve sits. Unwind the plastic cap covering the receiver and pop it in your toolkit for safekeeping (put it straight back on whenever the lock isn't fitted). Slot the locking bolt into its rim-specific insert, then fit the socket key onto it, and bring the whole locking-bolt assembly up level with the receiver.
Using the wheel spanner supplied (a torque wrench works too), tighten the locking bolt socket down to the correct wheel torque - around 86 Nm - then take the socket key back off. Finally, push the barrel lock into place, and hold everything firm while you turn the key to lock it - at that point the AL-KO Secure is properly fitted.
Note this was an optional-extra fitting on some editions, so check whether your caravan actually has it before following these steps.

N/A | The microwave oven doesn't work | Not connected to mains, door not firmly closed, cooking time not set, or a blown fuse/tripped circuit breaker. | Make sure the power cord is plugged in securely, the door is shut firmly, and a cooking time has actually been set. Also check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker on the supply. | DIY Safe |
N/A | Sparking inside the microwave cavity | Metal cookware or metal-trimmed dishes are being used, or a metal skewer/foil is touching the inside walls of the oven. | Check you're not using any metal containers or metal-trimmed dishes, and that no metal skewer or foil is touching the oven's interior walls. Contact the service station if it keeps happening. | DIY Check / Tech Fallback |
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I ran the microwave empty by mistake - has this damaged it?
A short spell running empty won't cause any damage, though it's still best avoided.
Q: Can I cook with the roller guide or glass tray removed?
No - the roller guide and the glass tray must both be fitted before you start cooking.
Q: Am I able to open the door while the oven's running?
Yes - you can open it at any point during cooking. The microwave energy cuts off immediately, and the remaining cooking time is held until you shut the door again.
Q: Why does my microwave have moisture inside it after I've cooked something?
That's completely normal - it's just steam from the food condensing where it meets the cooler interior surface of the oven.

No ignition sparks or sparks occurring slower than once per second | Depleted or dead battery in the automatic ignition unit, or bad connection. | — | Replace the battery (Mignon LR 6, AA, AM 3) with a temperature-resistant (+70 °C), leak-proof type with the heater switched off. | DIY Safe |
Gas line filled with air after cylinder change | Air trapped in the gas supply line preventing immediate combustion. | — | Hold the control knob fully depressed and actuate the igniter continuously for up to 2 minutes until the flame ignites. | DIY Safe |
Flame fails to light or goes out repeatedly | Faulty regulator, closed valve, or air in lines. | — | Wait at least 2 minutes before attempting a new ignition to prevent flashbacks. Verify gas supply and regulator condition. | DIY Safe |
No ignition sparking heard / monitor lamp 'e' not flashing | The battery on the auto ignitor is depleted or needs replacement. | — | Replace the battery with a temperature-resistant (+70 °C), leakproof Mignon battery (LR 6, AA, AM 3) with correct polarity. | DIY Safe |
Flame goes out repeatedly in windy conditions or winter | Extreme wind conditions or snow buildup are affecting the cowl. | — | Clear snow from the cowl and consider using a cowl extension such as AKV or SKV. | DIY Safe |

Q: How do I replace the battery in the automatic igniter?
Remove the heater casing, slide the battery compartment cover upwards, replace the battery observing correct plus/minus polarity, and close the compartment. Use only temperature-resistant (+70 °C) leak-proof Mignon LR 6, AA, AM 3 batteries.
Q: If the heater fails to start, how long should I wait before trying to re-ignite?

N/A | The Power Pack's red LED stays dark | A faulty coaxial plug, wiring that's incorrect, or a damaged coaxial cable on the antenna dome | Take the antenna dome's cable out of the 'ANT-IN' socket. Should the LED light up at that point, go through each coaxial plug to confirm correct wiring, and look over the coaxial cable itself for sharp bends, kinks, hot surfaces, or proximity to electrical equipment. Our office or an authorised service centre can help further if the LED remains unlit. | DIY Check / Tech Fallback |
N/A | TV picture quality is poor or affected by interference (Status antenna) | Damage to the coaxial cable (a sharp bend, a kink, or contact with a hot surface), or its route passing near electrical cables, transformers, or similar equipment - any of which can introduce interference, particularly where reception is already weak. | Inspect the coaxial cable routing and ensure it is not damaged or routed near electrical equipment. Remove any excess cable rather than coiling it, as coiled cable can also cause picture distortion. | DIY Safe |
N/A | TV picture is affected by strong signal near a transmitter (Status antenna) | Gain Control Switch is left on 'NML' (normal) despite being near a TV transmitter, where the resulting strong signal can degrade picture quality. | Set the Gain Control Switch to the Low setting when close to TV transmitters. | DIY Safe |
N/A | Unclear whether a poor TV signal is caused by the antenna system or the caravan's internal TV wiring (Status antenna) | — | Try a Short Hook-up Test: disconnect the coaxial plugs running from the Power Pack's 'TV-FM' sockets to the TV outlet, and instead wire the TV straight into one of those 'TV-FM' sockets using a fly lead. With the antenna dome plugged directly into 'ANT-IN' and the unit switched on, re-tune the TV for the best signal. An improved picture points to wiring problems between the Power Pack and TV outlet, not a fault with the antenna itself. | DIY Safe |
