Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the reversing camera work?

Fitted next to the high-mounted rear stop lamp, this wide-angle colour camera feeds a monitor that clips over your existing interior mirror, switching on by itself the second you select reverse. Keep anything hard away from the LCD screen to avoid scratching it.

Reverse polarity warning light is illuminated on the PSU
—This light is designed to catch a reversed/crossed live and neutral supply on UK-wired sites - if it comes on, suspect a fault with the site's own supply, or its connecting cable (outside the UK it can light up with no actual fault present, so check with the site warden). It can also light up quite normally when running from certain generators, since some centre-tap their earth connection rather than earthing the neutral directly, leaving both conductors roughly 110V above earth - usually still safe to keep using in that case, but check the generator's own handbook.DIY Check / Tech Fallback
N/A
Control panel has no display
—Check the batteries, switch the charger on at the PSU, and confirm the mains supply is connected. Check the connecting lead at both the PSU and the control panel. If that doesn't resolve it, contact your dealer.DIY Check / Tech Fallback

—This is usually the battery-save feature stepping in to protect the vehicle and/or leisure battery, or the engine having been started (in which case equipment gets disconnected automatically to meet EMC requirements).DIY Safe
N/A
Control panel display is corrupt or behaves erratically
—The control panel's own software may have crashed. Reboot it either by switching off the PSU charger and pulling fuses 1 and 2 (the two 20A fuses covering the leisure and vehicle batteries), waiting 30 seconds, then refitting them and switching the charger back on - or by removing the control panel's bezel (pull down at the bottom centre), unplugging its multi-way connector, waiting 30 seconds, then reconnecting and reassembling.DIY Safe
N/A
Control panel contrast is poor
—Remove the control panel as for a reboot, but leave it plugged in, then carefully adjust the small contrast preset on the back using a jeweller's screwdriver.DIY Safe
N/A
Control panel's current reading is incorrect
—Recalibrate the current sensor: with the charger switched off and the panel powered down (no LEDs lit), scroll the display to the battery current reading, then hold the select (left arrow) button until 'calibrating...' appears - keep holding until the reading reappears, then release. Repeat the whole process once more to store the new setting.DIY Safe

No 230V supplyCheck the 230V supply first: the hook-up lead is plugged in at both ends, the RCD and MCB are both switched on (reset either one if it has tripped), and the site's own supply is actually live.DIY Safe

Only if your leisure battery needs replacing - check the size, type and terminal layout of the one fitted now, and that your charger supports it, before ordering:

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use Ultraheat with older Truma S heaters like the Trumatic S 3002?

No - Ultraheat can't be used with any S-heater built before 04/2012, nor with the Trumatic S 3002, S 3002 P, S 5002, S 2200, S 55 T, or S 3002 K / S 5002 K.

Q: What fan setting should be used during electrical mode?

On electrical mode, run the fan at level 3 or above (manual or automatic) to spread warm air through the vehicle quickly and evenly.

Q: Can the Ultraheat be operated separately outside of a Truma S-heater?

No - Ultraheat (the electric additional heater) is only approved for fitting and running inside a compatible S-heater, never on its own or outside a vehicle.

Q: What power settings are available on the Ultraheat?

The additional heater features three operating power levels: 500 Watts, 1000 Watts, and 2000 Watts.

Q: Can the S-heater run on gas and the electric Ultraheat together?

Yes - the S-heater can run on gas while the electric additional heater runs too, though the additional heater may cut out on its own to guard against overheating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the refrigerator need a winter cover?

Not using the fridge for a while? Clear out the food, turn it off, give it a wipe down and shut off its gas supply. Prop the door open on its storage catch to let air circulate inside, and pop the winter cover over the outside ventilation grill.

Check whether the blown fuse is a standard or a mini blade fuse (mini ones are roughly half the size), then choose the matching kit:

This fault doesn't say which fuse rating has blown, only to replace it like-for-like. Both kits cover the common ratings (5A-30A) - match the rating printed on the blown fuse.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I winterise the water system before storing the vehicle for winter?

Empty the water system completely: leave both the fresh and waste tank drain taps open, along with every internal tap, and keep the pump running until nothing more comes through. If you're expecting particularly hard frost, it's also worth taking out the water filter on the pump's outlet side and clearing it of water while you're at it - a handy moment to give it a clean before next season too.

Pull the sink plugs so air can get into the system, flush the waste tank thoroughly to shift any debris, finish with a mild disinfectant flush, and leave the drain tap open.

Concertina blind or flyscreen has become stiff and difficult to operate
The mechanism has dried out or picked up dust/grit over time - these units need only light, occasional lubrication.Apply a light lubricant to the mechanism. Avoid cleaning solvents or aerosols on the blind material itself, as it's a paper-type fabric that these can damage. If the problem persists, contact your Auto-Sleepers dealer.DIY Check / Tech Fallback
