Master Troubleshooting & Diagnostics Matrix
| Error Code / Indicator | Symptom / Meaning | Possible Cause | Step-by-Step DIY Fix | Suggested Actions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
N/A | Pump will not run | Tap is closed, low battery condition, mains or pump isolator switch is off, dirty contacts, faulty wiring connections, or blown fuse. | Work through this checklist: make sure a tap is open somewhere, check the battery, confirm both the mains isolator and pump isolator switches are on, check the plug and socket contacts are clean, check the wiring, and check the fuse in the vehicle's fuse box - then try switching the pump isolator off and back on. If none of that fixes it, contact an authorised service agent. | DIY Check / Tech Fallback |
N/A | Pump keeps switching on and off even though every tap and the shower are shut | Air or water leaks in the taps and pipework, or grit trapped in the socket's non-return valve. | Check the taps and pipework for any air or water leaks, and clear grit from the socket's non-return valve by pressing a blunt object (a ballpoint pen works well) into the socket nipple to hold the valve open while any trapped debris dislodges. If the pump is still within its 1-year warranty and the fault persists, contact your retailer, who can replace it if necessary. | DIY Check / Tech Fallback |
N/A | Pump keeps running and doesn't stop after around 30 seconds | Loose or faulty connections in pipework. | Check all connections in pipework. If the issue persists, contact an authorised workshop. | DIY Check / Tech Fallback |
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why choose Whale's Easi-Slide sockets?
Easi-Slide sockets replace the familiar flip-up lid, and the problems that come with it, with a sliding cover. Whale says they're tougher and neater on the outside of your caravan or motorhome, and the range covers mains electric, gas and water sockets.
Q: Are Easi-Slide sockets easy to fit?
Every socket is supplied with fitting instructions. If you'd rather not fit it yourself, a local caravan or motorhome workshop should be able to do it for you. The exception is the BBQ (gas) socket: a qualified gas engineer has to certify that installation, to BS EN 1949-2011.
Q: Which lid colours do Easi-Slide sockets come in?
White, grey or black.
