Truma • Gas Pressure Regulator

Truma MonoControl CS

The Truma MonoControl CS is a safety gas pressure regulator with an integrated crash sensor designed for operating liquid gas systems in caravans and motorhomes. It reduces the up to 16 bar cylinder pressure down to a 30 mbar operating pressure and automatically shuts off the gas supply in the event of an accident.

Master Troubleshooting & Diagnostics Matrix

Error Code / IndicatorSymptom / MeaningPossible CauseStep-by-Step DIY FixSuggested Actions
Gas supply failure / No gas
Possible empty cylinder, closed valve, triggered crash sensor, or closed quick-acting shut-off valve.
—
Check there's gas in the cylinder and its valve is open, check the hose-rupture protection, see whether the crash sensor has tripped and reset it if so, and make sure the appliances' quick-acting valves are open.
DIY Safe
Regulator icing up
Temperatures around 0 °C can cause the regulator to freeze, reducing or interrupting gas flow.
—
Use an optional Truma EisEx regulator heater for a reliable gas supply at low temperatures.
DIY Safe
Smell of gas or gas system leaks
Possible gas leak or damaged connection.
—
Do not switch on any electrical appliances or other sources of ignition. Close the gas cylinder valve, have the gas system repaired by experts, and do not open the valve in the meantime.
Professional Intervention Required
Crash sensor tripped / Yellow reset button in 'out of service' position
The crash sensor has triggered due to an impact or manual operation.
—
Firmly press the yellow reset button, turn it slightly clockwise, hold for 10 seconds, and ensure it remains in the 'ready' position.
DIY Safe
Gas system shows leakage
Possible leak in high-pressure or low-pressure gas lines or connections.
—
Close the cylinder valve immediately, do not open it until repaired, and have an expert repair the gas system.
Professional Intervention Required
Gas flow interrupted after accidental bump
The integrated crash sensor has tripped.
—
Use the T20 Torx pin on the screw aid to push the yellow reset button into the housing, turn it gently clockwise and keep it held for 10 seconds. Check the yellow button stays pressed in, and repeat if it doesn't.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I operate gas appliances while driving?

Yes. Thanks to the integrated crash sensor (safety shut-off device) compliant with UN/ECE regulation 122, type-tested liquid gas heaters and other gas appliances may be operated while driving throughout Europe (observing national regulations and special exceptions such as France).

Q: How do I reset the crash sensor?

With the screw aid's T20 Torx pin, push the yellow reset button into the housing, give it a gentle turn clockwise and keep it held for 10 seconds - then check it has stayed locked in.

Q: Who is permitted to perform a leak test on the low-pressure section?

Only qualified and trained experts are permitted to perform leak tests on the low-pressure section of the gas installation.
