Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types and capacities of batteries can the BC 10 charge?

Any 12V lead-acid battery - wet, maintenance-free (MF), calcium (Ca/Ca), AGM or gel. It charges batteries of 20-200Ah, and for maintennce charging, up to 300Ah.

Q: How do I know when the battery is ready to use or fully charged?

Once STEP 4 (Absorption) lights up, the battery has enough charge to start an engine. When STEP 7 (Float) lights up, it's fully charged.

Q: What is the purpose of the Supply program?

Supply lets you use the charger as a 12V power supply, or keep the battery on float charge when you need it at full (100%) capacity. Spark protection is switched off while Supply is selected.

Q: Can the BC 10 be used as a constant 12V power supply?

Yes, by selecting the 'Supply' program, the charger can be used as a 12V power supply or for float maintenance charging. Note that spark protection is disabled in this mode.

Q: What is the purpose of the external temperature sensor?

The external temperature sensor allows the charger to automatically adjust the charging voltage based on the ambient temperature. If it is not connected, the charger will not compensate for temperature.
