Close off every outlet and valve, then pull open the filler neck's protective cover and unlock the filler cap. Top the tank up with drinking water, then switch on your 12V main switch, and if your model has one, switch the water pump on at the control panel. Run every tap on warm and wait until the water flows free of bubbles - that's how you know the warm water boiler has filled too.

On the Van Exclusive/Toskana/Toskana Exclusive, the outlet valve sits next to the tank in the seating area on the outer wall; on the Sphinx, it's higher up, near the rear external storage locker, behind the rear-left service flap.

The waste water opening is on the left-hand side underneath the vehicle - depending on your model, its valve sits right by that opening or is tucked away inside the gas bottle container instead. Unscrew the lid, open the valve, and let it drain away, then push everything back and screw the lid on once it's done.

The tank's wrapped in a Styrofoam casing that warm air passes through whenever the hot-air heating is on, which is enough to stop it freezing in light frost.
