Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I prepare the toilet cassette for use?
Open the outside service flap and swing out the fill stanchion arm, then take out the water tank extension piece. Turn the funnel outward, remove its cap, fit the extension over it, and pour in the correct measure of Thetford toilet additive before topping the tank up with fresh water. Refit the extension onto the cassette, then release the securing clamp, tilt the cassette out and pull it clear.
Stand the cassette upright, turn the pouring spout upward, and use the measuring cup built into its cap to add a cleaner dose plus roughly two litres of water so the base is fully covered - screw the cap back on and return the spout to its resting position. Slide the cassette back in, secure the clamp, and shut the service flap.
Give the flush button a quick press, or turn the valve lever, to check everything is ready.
Q: How do I empty the toilet's waste tank?
Check the valve's closed, open the outside service flap, push the securing clamp up and lift the tank out - take the water tank extension off first so it doesn't get lost. Stand the tank upright (lever on top, wheels underneath), press the lever down and pull it away from the tank to release it from its housing, then lift the lever and wheel the tank to a proper disposal site.
Push the lever back in, turn the pouring spout upward and take off its cap, then hold the tank by its top handle in one hand and its rear handle in the other, leaving your thumb free on the ventilation button - press that gently as it drains to stop it splashing. Give the tank (and its valve) a good rinse with water afterwards, then, if you're using it again straight away, refit the water tank extension, slide it back into place in the toilet, and shut the service flap.
