Gas cooker burner fails to ignite

Press the igniter and keep it held down until the flame catches, then keep the rotary switch pressed for a further 5-10 seconds so the automatic flame guard engages before releasing it and setting your preferred flame size. If it doesn't light, just repeat the process.
