Noises occurring while towing the caravan
Could be: 1) a painted, dacromet-coated tow ball 2) a galvanised or varnished tow ball 3) a tow ball that's damaged, rusty, or dirty 4) friction pads in the hitch that are worn or dirty 5) dryness affecting the brake rod or towbar within the overrun equipment's linings.
For a tow ball that's painted, galvanised, varnished, damaged, rusty, or dirty, or for worn/dirty friction pads, check the sections covering the towing vehicle's tow ball and the hitch. If the towbar or brake rod has run dry, grease the bushings via the lubricating nipple, remove the gangway bellows to grease the exposed tow bar, and re-grease the tow ball where it sits on the locking mechanism, taking it off first.
