Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I get hold of your latest brochure?

You'll find our current brochures at any Approved Retailer, or you can view and print them from our website - www.elddis.co.uk, www.buccaneer-rv.co.uk, or www.xplore-rv.co.uk.

Q: Why doesn't the handbook cover my exact model specifically?

A lot of the components across our model ranges are shared, so one handbook is written to cover every model built within a range that season. If something in your motorhome's paperwork doesn't answer your question, get in touch with your Retailer.

Q: Who should I contact if I need technical help or other information?

Most of what you'll need is available through your nearest Retailer within the Erwin Hymer Group UK network.

Q: Can you give me a second-hand valuation for my motorhome?

We're not involved in the second-hand market as a manufacturer, so we can't help with valuations directly - a Retailer should be able to give you a sense of market value.

Q: How do I source spare parts for my motorhome?

Parts aren't supplied directly from us - our wide network of Retailers and Service Centres can source the vast majority of what you'll need instead. Head to the 'Find A Retailer' section of our website to locate your nearest one. If your vehicle is over 8 years old, the Help and Support / FAQ's / Parts area of the site (https://elddis.co.uk/help-and-support/faqs) also lists surplus stockists and breakers who may be able to help.

Q: For how long after purchase can I expect spare parts to still be available?

Erwin Hymer Group UK aims to keep spare parts available for a motorhome for a minimum of 8 years, counting from when it was new.

Q: Why isn't parts stock held directly at our own Erwin Hymer Group UK manufacturing factory?

Given how many different models we build, holding stock of every single component used in production simply isn't practical. We do keep the items requested most often in stock, but some parts have to be made to order instead.

Q: What happens if a part is no longer available?

If the original part's been discontinued, we'll try to point you towards a suitable alternative wherever one exists.

Q: Who's allowed to service my motorhome's habitation area?

Any EHG UK Ltd Approved Retailer or Service Centre can take on the service work if they choose to. We'll also accept servicing from an NCC-approved company, though they won't be able to do any warranty work unless they're also an EHG UK Ltd Approved Retailer or Service Centre. You're free to use an unauthorised repairer or service centre instead, but it'll be down to you to make sure the service still meets our requirements.

Q: How much advance notice should I give when booking my motorhome's service to stay within the warranty requirements?

Check the warranty section of this handbook for the full terms and conditions around servicing. It's best to plan your service bookings well ahead of time so you can comfortably meet those requirements.

Q: Who should I turn to if something's gone wrong with my motorhome?

Your first port of call should always be the Retailer you bought from. A local workshop approved by Erwin Hymer Group UK, or one meeting the equivalent NCC standard described in this handbook, should also be able to help - they can carry out an inspection and agree the right course of action with you.

Q: I'm dissatisfied with the service from my Retailer/Service Centre - what are my options?

Write to your Retailer/Service Centre setting out the problem and what you'd like done about it, and ask them to respond explaining how they'll resolve it. You can also send a copy to Erwin Hymer Group UK's Customer Care Department, including your motorhome's serial number and the Retailer/Service Centre's name - we'll help them work through any issues.

Q: Where do I go to get a replacement Certificate of Conformity for my motorhome?

The original certificate of conformity comes with the product itself; after that, our customer care team can issue a duplicate for a fee. We can only do this for vehicles built from the year 2000 onwards - anything older, we're no longer able to provide a duplicate for. Because of how old these earlier vehicles are, we also can't account for any modifications made after the original sale.

If you're planning to export the motorhome, we'd suggest getting it through the individual vehicle approval process (IVA) or whatever the equivalent is in the country you're registering it in.
