Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is SoLiD construction?
It's our own jointing system, paired with Henkel's proven structural bonding adhesives, that spreads stress evenly across every joint and forms a watertight barrier.
Q: Where can I get hold of your latest brochure?
You'll find our current brochures at any Approved Retailer, or you can view and print them from our website - www.elddis.co.uk, www.buccaneer-rv.co.uk, or www.xplore-rv.co.uk.
Q: Why doesn't the handbook cover my exact model specifically?
A lot of the components across our model ranges are shared, so one handbook is written to cover every model built within a range that season. If something in your caravan's paperwork doesn't answer your question, get in touch with your Retailer.
Q: Who should I contact if I need technical help or other information?
Most of what you'll need can be found via your local Retailer, or through one of the Service Centres in the Erwin Hymer Group UK network.
Q: What's my caravan likely to be worth on the second-hand market?
We're not involved in valuing used vehicles ourselves, being the manufacturer, but a Retailer, plus organisations like The Camping and Caravanning Club or The Caravan Club, should each be able to give you a rough idea of what it's worth.
Q: How do I source spare parts for my caravan?
Parts aren't supplied directly from us - instead, our wide network of Retailers and Service Centres can source the vast majority of what you'll need. If your vehicle is over 8 years old, our website's Help and Support / FAQ's / Parts area (https://elddis.co.uk/help-and-support/faqs) lists surplus stockists and breakers who may also be able to help.
Q: For how long after manufacture can I expect spare parts to still be available?
Erwin Hymer Group UK aims to keep spare parts available for a period of up to 8 years, counted from when the caravan was originally made.
Q: What happens if a part is no longer available?
If the original part's been discontinued, we'll try to point you towards a suitable alternative wherever one exists.
Q: Which businesses am I able to use for warranty work on my caravan?
The Retailer you originally bought from is required to carry out your warranty work, though any other Retailer or Service Centre within the Erwin Hymer Group UK network may also agree to take it on.
Q: Why isn't parts stock held directly at our own Erwin Hymer Group UK manufacturing factory?
Given how many different models we build, holding stock of every single component used in production simply isn't practical. The items requested most often are kept in stock, but some parts have to be made to order instead.
Q: What's a reasonable timescale for booking my caravan in for its required service?
Please refer to the question 'Who can service my Caravan'.
Q: Who should I turn to if something's gone wrong with my caravan?
Get in touch with the Retailer you bought from, or your nearest Retailer or Approved Service Centre in the Erwin Hymer Group UK network, so they can inspect it and agree the right next steps with you.
Q: I'm dissatisfied with the service from my Retailer/Service Centre - what are my options?
Write to your Retailer/Service Centre setting out the problem and what you'd like done about it, and ask them to respond explaining how they'll resolve it. You can also send a copy to Erwin Hymer Group UK's Customer Care Department, including your caravan's serial number and the Retailer/Service Centre's name.
Q: Where do I go to get a replacement Certificate of Conformity for my caravan?
You'll receive the original certificate with the product itself; you can ask our customer care team for a duplicate afterwards, for a fee, though only for vehicles built from 2000 onwards.
Q: Who can service my caravan?
Any EHG UK Ltd Approved Retailer or Service Centre can service your caravan if they're willing to take it on. We'll also accept servicing done by an NCC-approved company, though only an EHG UK Ltd Approved Retailer or Service Centre can carry out warranty work.
