Q: How do I connect to the mains electricity supply on arrival at site?
Before connecting, check the mains supply is suitable (right AC/DC type, voltage and frequency), that the motorhome is properly earthed, the RCD has been tested recently, and both the site's supply switch and the motorhome's mains isolating switch are off. Take the inlet cover off the motorhome and plug the female end of the orange supply cable in, connect the male end to the site's supply point, and switch the site supply on.
Lay any spare cable out uncoiled underneath the motorhome, switch the MCB main supply on, test the RCD using its test button and reset it, then make sure the master 12V switch is on.
Q: How do I disconnect the mains electricity supply when leaving site?
Switch the RCD off at the motorhome's distribution unit, unplug the male 3-pin end from the site supply, disconnect the female end from the motorhome, and stow the cable back in its locker.
Q: How do I reset a tripped Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) on the 230V system?
Once whatever caused the overload has been cleared, just flip the MCB from OFF back to ON to reset it.
Q: How do I test the Residual Current Device (RCD)?
Each time you plug into a site supply, use the RCD's own functional TEST button to confirm it's working correctly.
Q: On the Avalon/Quantum control panel, how do I move over from running off the Leisure Battery to running off the Vehicle Battery?
Tap the vehicle icon first, which opens the Vehicle Battery's own voltage screen; tapping it a second time makes the lightning bolt symbol jump over from the Leisure Battery side to the Vehicle Battery side, confirming the source has switched. To reverse this, press the Leisure Battery icon to bring its voltage screen back up, then tap it again to swap back over.
