Master Troubleshooting & Diagnostics Matrix
| Error Code / Indicator | Symptom / Meaning | Possible Cause | Step-by-Step DIY Fix | Suggested Actions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Red LED 1 flash every 2 seconds, buzzer with intermittent sound | Carbon monoxide concentration has exceeded the alarm threshold | CO has reached one of the alarm thresholds - 50ppm sustained for 60-90 minutes, 100ppm for 10-40 minutes, or 300ppm for as little as 3 minutes | Ventilate the room immediately. Where possible, turn off anything that could be producing carbon monoxide - gas fridges, cookers, combustion engines and similar - and don't use them again until a specialist engineer has checked them. Power the detector off and back on to reset it; if the alarm comes straight back on, evacuate the room.
If anyone shows symptoms like headache, dizziness or nausea, get medical help immediately. | Professional Intervention Required |
Red LED turning on continuously | Detector malfunction | The detector's own electronics or sensor have developed a fault | Replace the device. | DIY Safe |
