A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) on the mains unit has tripped to the OFF position

Possible cause: A fault has developed in the 230V circuit protected by that MCB, or too many appliances are drawing power at once.. Sort out the fault first (or cut back the load), then re-set by pushing the MCB upward, against its spring, back to the ON position.

The RCD (residual current device) does not switch off when the test button marked 'T' is pressed

Possible cause: The RCD unit itself is faulty.. The mains supply system must not be used - get a qualified electrician in.
